  • Installation Guide

AIO Proxy offers prebuilt native standalone binaries as well as package manager distributions across macOS (Apple Silicon / Intel), Linux (x64 / arm64), and Windows (WSL2).

    Prefer a desktop app?

The desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux bundles the proxy and runs it from the menu bar or system tray, with no package manager needed.

    brew
    bun
    npm
    pnpm
    curl
    brew install aio-proxy/tap/aio-proxy
    Alias

The npm, bun, and curl installation scripts simultaneously register the convenient shortcut alias aiop.

    Standalone Binary (curl Script)

On macOS or Linux, install directly without requiring Node.js or Bun:

    curl -fsSL https://aioproxy.dev/install.sh | sh

By default, the script places the executable in ~/.local/bin (or /usr/local/bin if root). Ensure ~/.local/bin is in your shell PATH.

    Verify Installation

Check that the CLI is correctly installed:

    aio-proxy --version

If it prints the current version (e.g. aio-proxy 0.21.0), the installation was successful.

    Upgrade

    Upgrading with Package Managers

    # Homebrew
    brew upgrade aio-proxy

    # npm
    npm install -g aio-proxy@latest

    # Bun
    bun add -g aio-proxy@latest

    Self-Upgrade via CLI

AIO Proxy CLI includes a self-updating command:

    aio-proxy upgrade

    Next Steps

After completing installation, proceed to Quick Start to run the server, or explore Background Service and Docker Deployment for persistent setups.
